Dhyanyoga Centers was founded by Shri Dhyanyogiji and his life's work continues today through the love and blessings of his spiritual heir, Shri Anandi Ma.
For more than 5,000 years in India, the spiritual heir receives the power of the lineage.  This transmission of energy holds tremendous power, indeed, God's power.
The path of Kundalini Maha Yoga is brought to Earth by Lord Rama himself.  Thus, the spiritual power of the heir holds all of Lord Rama's power.  This is a tremendous and invaluable benefit for all those who receive shaktipat into this lineage.  Many devotees who may have experienced great obstacles on the spiritual path are immediately and profoundly removed.
Kundalini Maha Yoga as taught through Dhyanyoga Centers, our spiritual path, is an ancient science, filled with a sacred East Indian tradition and ritual.  This rich environment occupies the heart and mind of the devotee and transforms each individual who is open to the blessings to be received into a joyous expression of life.
In our minds, there is no greater living saint today than Shri Anandi Ma.  Following are a few of the joyous events we celebrate with her each year.

Guru Purnima Retreat

Prerequisite: Initiation by Shri Dhyanyogiji, Shri Anandi Ma, or Shri Dileepji

These retreats give disciples the opportunity to fill our hearts with the love, grace, and the ocean of compassion in the form of the Guru.  Literally, guru purnima means "full moon of the Guru."  This time is greatly beneficial because all energies of the moon are flowing for the benefit of disciples.
Events of the retreat are often made spontaneously as Shri Anandi Ma and her disciples come together to celebrate.  Ancient abhishik rituals or a time-honored fire ceremony may be performed.
All disciples wishing to enjoy the grace of the Guru and offer their thanks and appreciation are welcome to attend.

Guru Purnima Day

Prerequisite: Shaktipat from Shri Dhyanyogi, Shri Anandi Ma, or Shri Dileepji

We spend this morning basking in the love and grace of our Guru as we perform Guru Puja to Shri Anandi Mas lotus feet and to a casting of Gurujis feet. After receiving Mas grace in the form of individual darshan, we enjoy an Indian feast with her.

Hanuman Jayanti Chant

Prerequisite: None.

Lord Hanuman is considered to be the embodiment of perfect love and devotion to God.  He is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva who took form in order to participate in the drama of Lord Ram's incarnation.  His devotion and humility is such that he chose to incarnate in the form of a monkey, a species lower than his Lord, in order to experience life in complete subjugation to Lord Ram, enabling him to carry out all of Lord Ram's work and wishes.
Shri Anandi Ma and Shri Dileepji invite students to their own home and lead and all-day program singing 108 repetitions of the Hanuman Chalisa.

The Mahasamadhi Retreat

Prerequisite:  Initiation from Shri Dhyanyogiji, Shri Anandi Ma, or Shri Dileepji

The days of the Mahasamadhi retreat are filled full with the love and grace of our great Guru as we celebrate the complete and final union of Shri Dhyanyogiji with his Lord.  His life and work is honored and continued through Shri Anandi Ma as she leads the disciples through the weekend.  Sometimes there's a fire ceremony, sometimes 108 Hanuman Chalisa's are sung, sometimes we sing the Guru Gita, but all the time we are enveloped in the sweetness of the grace.
We have often seen Shri Anandi Ma enter samadhi and manifest the Divine right before our eyes.  There is an experience of unusual contentment and disciples often go into states of deep meditation.  These deep experiences of meditation come quite naturally in Anandi Ma's presence.  Such joy manifests itself with hardly any effort by the disciple.
The children are included in this wonderful celebration.  In the children's program, they reenact parts of the Ramayan or present a musical as a gift to Shri Anandi Ma.  She rewards them with great big, sweet smiles and chocolate candy.  It seems to make all the effort worthwhile.  The children also participate in the arati after meditations.  Emotions swel as we see the kids standing before Anandi Ma and our murti of Guruji holding fruit, candles, or flowers and perform the arati as we sing.
Shri Anandi Ma has given us some detail of her experience of the first days when Guruji left his body.  What follows is an excerpt from her own, personal experience, which can be found printed in a little booklet in the bookstore.
"After dinner that night we all went to bed.  It was around 2:30 a.m. when the phone rang and Dileepji's brother gave us the heart-wrenching news of Guruji leaving us all.  The initial interaction was that my prana was pulled out of my body, my heart was torn by some unknown hands, my senses began to withdraw.  I had lost everything.  The world was empty.  There was nothing but a state of void.  At the same time the mind, however, began to remind me of Guruji's desire and my promise to continue his work.  This pulled me back together, yet I was hurt.  How could I still be living?  Why was I nt blessed like Dasrathji who passed on without his Rama?  How could I continue to exist when my guru was gone?

"...We walked around the body three times as token of our final respects. We then sat to meditate, before which I looked up in the sky and saw Guruji along with some forms of deities. At the same time, I saw a lot more crowd of disciples present than were actually present there. The sky was extremely bright white with golden rays. Guruji appeared in an extremely beautiful body with a profound smile and such a state as was never seen when he was in the body itself. His body shone like gold, his eyes shone such light that even the deities present there were honoring Guruji. Then a chariot came in which Guruji sat, and he, along with the deities, began to pour a silver-like fluid on the people below, but all this fell only on my head and not anywhere else. I was immersed in it. I felt a very pleasing and cooling effect; at the same time, I felt as if I had eaten something extremely sweet. I was immersed in a state of bliss which was unique. I felt Guruji had now spread his body through me and through his disciples. He now lived in every heart. Every moment he continued to guide me."

Both the kids and the adults leave the Mahasamadhi retreat with memories to last a lifetime.

Ram Navami Celebration

Prerequisite: None.

Ram Navami is the celebration of the birth of Lord Ram. Lord Ram, born in Ayodaya, India, more than 5,000 years ago is considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and the founder of the path of Maha Kundalini Yoga. This ancient lineage has been handed down from Guru to disciple with expertise and precision.  Through Guruji's grace and Shri Anandi Ma's leadership, we are uniquely blessed to be included in this exalted and prestigious company.

Shri Anandi Ma and Shri Dileepji invite students to their own home and lead a special program of chanting and meditation with all those who join them.

Yagna: Fire Ceremony for World Peace

Prerequisite: None.  Open to the Public.  Free.

Without a doubt the fire ceremony is one of the most auspicious and powerful events ever encountered by spiritual seekers in any country or religious tradition. This event is all the more transforming as we are united in thought, word, and deed with one of the world's greatest saints alive today.

It is out of compassion, stemming from her connection with infinite grace, that Shri Anandi Ma has determined to help spiritual seekers at every level free themselves from the self-limiting effects of ego. In this day-long practice, we join our voices with hers and chant the liberating name of Ram.

The fire ceremony is a well-loved tradition, dating back thousands of years. It is said that the cumulative power generated by those years of practice is experienced. Through the benefits received by Anandi Ma's personal presence, her prayers, and intent to bring about the welfare of all the soul experiences such a feeling of cleansing and joy that it cannot be easily described in any words.

Shri Anandi Ma in Samadhi Giving Darshan

Most of the day is spent chanting the Ram Gayatri mantra while we simultaneously offer ghee and a specially prepared rice mixture into the fire. There are several kunds (fire pits) we sit around, and all of us act as a single unit.  As there are always more people than seats, we take turns sitting around the kunds making the offering.  Other special mantras for prosperity and health are generally recited with offerings into the kunds before the final offering and arati.

Shri Anandi Ma enters samadhi and darshan is received by all while she is in that state. It is said she most completely manifests the Divine at this time.  In fact, it is very sweet, she will not leave her condition until all of us have individually received her personal blessing.
