Shri Dhyanyogi Madhusudandasji
(1878 - 1994)
Shri Dhyanyogiji was a great saint, whose search for spiritual
enlightenment took place during another era, in an India that no longer exists. He walked barefoot across India, in the 1880's
and early 1900's, through what were then jungles, but are now cleared and settled lands, meeting saints, living in seclusion,
completely detached from the mundane world.
Born in Bihar, India, Shri Dhyanyogiji was a very spiritual
child. Prior to his birth, his mother had a vision of Lord Krishna, indicating the coming of a great being. His spiritual
quest began in earnest at age 7 when he left home in search of God. Although he was quickly found by his parents, he left
home again for good at age 13. The next 30 years were spent travelling all over India learning whatever the saints and yogis
would teach him. He mastered Mantra, Yantra, Hatha, Raja, and Jnana Yogas, and became adept at yogic philosophies and scriptures.
Yet after 30 years of austerities and intense searching, he still had not attained his highest goal, the ultimate encounter
with God.
Finally, in 1921 on Mt. Abu, he came into the presence of his
final teacher, a great master named Shri Yogiraj Parameshwardasji, who gave him Shaktipat initiation. He immediately went
into the highest state of samadhi, attained the ultimate goal of God realization, and remained in that condition for three
days.
Shri Dhyanyogiji was a unique being. As a result of his own
search, and more specifically, through the grace and guidance of Shri Parameshwardasji, he became a master of Kundalini Maha
Yoga, with the power to awaken the dormant Kundalini in spiritual aspirants.
He founded a small ashram at Bandhwad, in Gujarat state, India,
where he carried on his work and teachings. In 1960, he was inspired to begin public instruction in Kundalini Maha Yoga and
to conduct group meditation programs throughout India. In doing so, Shri Dhyanyogiji became the first teacher in the entire
history of this multi-thousand year lineage to come out into the open and work at a mass level to raise humanity's consciousness.
He came to America in 1976 as part of his worldwide mission
to help spiritual seekers. During his four years here, he established local groups from coast to coast, and initiated thousands
into the path of Kundalini Maha Yoga. He returned to India in 1980 and spent his remaining years in residence in Ahmedabad,
Gujarat. To his students great sorrow, Shri Dhyanyogiji consciously left his physical body after 116 years, entering Mahasamadhi
on August 29, 1994, the anniversary of Lord Krishnas birth.
Shri Dhyanyogiji's simple, pure love, and devotion to the welfare
of mankind, changed the hearts of the thousands of people whose lives he touched. Today, his energy continues to work at the
subtle level and through his spiritual heir, Shri Anandi Ma.

Shri Anandi Ma
The Infinite is in the form of pure love. Meditate to reach it and you will find infinite love, peace
and happiness. -- Shri Anandi Ma
Shri Anandi Ma is Shri Dhyanyogiji's spiritual heir and was
known for many years as Asha Ma or Ashadevi. In January 1993, Shri Dhyanyogiji gave her the spiritual name, Anandi Ma, which
means, "One who is in Bliss and keeps others in Bliss."
Her early years passed in a quiet and uneventful manner, in
an environment rich with spiritual practice and energy. One day in 1972 at the age of fourteen, she spontaneously entered
a very deep, meditative state. In her own words, she saw "the light of a million suns," and in the same moment, had a vision
of the Divine Mother, and merged with her.
Shri Anandi Ma's father went to Shri Dhyanyogiji and asked him
to come, meet her, and provide guidance and assistance. Shri Dhyanyogiji went to their home and woke her. Later that day he
asked her to describe her vision of the Divine Mother. "Did you see her as a picture, a statue, a living being?" Shri Anandi
Ma answered, "Just as I see you now." Later that day, Shri Dhyanyogiji said Shri Anandi Ma was the most spiritually advanced
person, for her age, he had ever met. With her parents consent, she left home shortly after receiving Shaktipat to stay permanently
with Shri Dhyanyogiji.
He took her under his wing and trained her to control and radiate
her energies for the welfare of humanity, especially by giving Shaktipat. He said, "I have been asked by my Guru to hand over
the powers of this lineage to her," and put aside all his major activities to work almost exclusively with her, day and night,
for four years. During this period Shri Anandi Ma would enter profound states of meditation for hours or days at a time.
From the beginning, Shri Anandi Ma worked alongside Shri Dhyanyogiji
wherever he traveled, and accompanied him when he came to America in 1976. When Shri Dhyanyogiji returned to India in 1980,
he told Shri Anandi Ma and Shri Dileepji to marry and continue his work together.
Today, Shri Anandi Ma and Shri Dileepji travel extensively in
India, the United States, and Europe, conducting meditation programs and yoga retreats. They provide spiritual guidance and
Shaktipat initiation to sincere seekers. As part of her role as Shri Dhyanyogijis spiritual heir, Shri Anandi Ma has also
assumed the responsibility for continuing the humanitarian works begun during Shri Dhyanyogiji's lifetime. These include operating
a hospital, sponsoring eye surgery camps, and providing food for the poor. In all these works, she continues to spread the
love and light of her lineage and of her beloved sadaguru, Shri Dhyanyogi Madhusudandasji.
Shri Dileepji
Like Shri Anandi Ma, Shri Dileepji has been Shri Dhyanyogiji's
student since his early teens. Over 30 years ago, Dileepji's father, one of Shri Dhyanyogiji's greatest devotees, told his
teacher, "I have five sons. I would like to give you one to do your work." Shri Dhyanyogiji responded, "When the time comes,
I will take Dileepji."
It was Shri Dhyanyogiji's deep love and compassion for humanity
that touched and inspired the young Dileepji. Throughout his years of schooling, Shri Dileepji spent as much time as possible
with Shri Dhyanyogiji, growing up with him, accompanying him in his travels, and absorbing Shri Dhyanyogiji's nature and temperament.
With Shri Dhyanyogiji's guidance and blessings, Shri Dileepji performed intense spiritual practices, mastered many yogic disciplines,
and became one of Shri Dhyanyogiji's most advanced disciples.
Shri Dileepji is empowered by Shri Dhyanyogiji to perform Shaktipat
initiation.
After completing his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry in India, Shri
Dileepji came to the U.S. in 1974 to obtain a degree in Microbiology. At that time, Shri Dhyanyogiji told him, "You go and
I will come later."
Previously known as Deepakji, in 1993 Shri Dhyanyogiji gave
him the spiritual name, Dileepji, which means, "One who wins the hearts of others." At that same time, some disciples visiting
in India asked, "What is the nature of the energy that flows through Dileepji?" Shri Dhyanyogiji's answer was simple: "Mine."
